Animal Shelter – Custom Order (Built to Order)

Our Animal Shelters sit on a 4x6 pressure treated perimeter base. It lets our trucks and trailers deliver the shelter and resists rot from ground moisture. Depending on size, you can add stalls, separators and even a tack room.

Deposit policy

Paint colours

Our brochure does not list colour choices specifically for Animal Shelters. These are the brochure's standard building colours; call 226-751-6811 to confirm which apply to your shelter.

• LP Smart Panel siding – standard paint (Sherwin-Williams® A-100® Exterior Satin, one colour included): Barn White, Eaglet Beige, Crewel Tan, Hardware, Thatch Brown, Dark Clove, Gauntlet Gray, Peppercorn, Pewter Cast, Steely Gray, Breezy, Smoky Blue, Rosemary Green, Rustic Red, Tricorn Black. Over 1,000 custom Sherwin-Williams colours are available at extra cost.
• Urethane (extra cost): Honey Gold, Mahogany, Chestnut Brown, Dark Ebony, Driftwood.
• Trim: your included standard colour covers siding and trim. A second standard colour on trim, doors and/or shutters is extra.
• T1-11 pressure treated siding: water sealer only – Sealed or Unsealed.
• Metal roof (one standard colour included): Hunter Green, Charcoal, Burnished Slate, Silver, Black. Special order metal colours (extra cost, longer lead time): Brilliant White, Alamo White, Ash Gray, Pewter Gray, Light Stone, Taupe, Tan, Brown, Burgundy, Gallery Blue, Ocean Blue, Rustic Red, Brite Red.
• Architectural shingle roof: Weathered Wood, Dark Brown, Black, Evergreen.

16′ wide sizes are build on site only. Build-on-site buildings are primed only, not painted.

Available add-ons

Make it your own with any of the add-ons in our brochure (availability depends on building style and size):

• Add-on packages: Deluxe Playhouse, Playhouse, Side Porch, Center Porch, Gable Dormer, Shed Dormer, Garage (8′ or 9′ wide door) and Double Garage Doors.
• Interior: workbench, shelves and loft.
• Exterior: extra porch post, porch railing, Sunburst spindles, 6″ front & back overhang and 7/12 roof pitch.
• Barriers & framing: house wrap vapour barrier, tar paper, 16″ on-centre studs & trusses and 2″x6″ studs & trusses.

Delivery & build-on-site

Delivery is included in the price – FREE delivery within 50 km of any Old Hickory Buildings sales lot in Canada. Build-on-site option: an additional 15% of the building price including add-ons, before tax (the building plus any add-ons or packages you select) is paid directly to the builder at the time of build (not charged online). This builder fee is not included in the price shown here; it is listed in a separate section of your contract. Build-on-site buildings are primed only, not painted.

Key features

• Single slope roof, 8′ wall height
• 1¼″ pressure treated kick boards, about 4′ high, spaced 1½″ apart
• Standard stall opening is 8′ wide. One stall comes standard per 12′ of length (10′x12′ = 1 stall, 10′x20′ = 1 stall, 10′x24′ = 2 stalls)
• Optional tack room (not included): engineered tongue & groove flooring, OSB divider wall, 3′ single barn door (4′ wooden barn door upgrade available)
• Set directly on the ground with no blocking. The ground must be suitable before delivery.
• Price is for a single slope roof. Utility style roof with 6′3″, 7′ & 8′ tall walls available – call for pricing

16′ wide buildings are build-on-site only – they are not delivered as finished buildings, so the 15% builder fee applies (see Delivery & build-on-site above).

Animal Shelter options

• Additional stalls $615 each (each needs at least 12 ft of length, not counting the tack room)

Usual lead times: custom ordered buildings are usually delivered within 4–6 weeks · non-standard metal colours add 1 week · peak season and poor weather can add extra days · build-on-site lead times vary. Your lead time is confirmed by phone.

Built in on every Old Hickory building

Doubled top plates on LP SmartSide buildings · 4x6 treated & notched skids · diamond plate door threshold · engineered tongue & groove flooring · colour-matched screws on metal roofing · the same price for a 29-gauge metal roof or architectural shingles.

Engineer Certified: rated for 0.5 kPa winds and 3.4 kPa ground snow load. The wind rating requires customer-supplied anchors. Designed to meet OBC standards; not guaranteed for every local jurisdiction.

Warranty

• 5-year limited warranty
• Limited lifetime warranty against termite damage and fungal decay on all pressure treated wood
• 30-year limited warranty on metal roofing against rust-through
• 50-year manufacturer's warranty on LP Smart Panel siding

Delivery site: must be reachable by truck and trailer and no more than 3 ft out of level.
